Police Homicide and Organised Crime Investigation Division (HOCID) arrested three persons for assaulting a Galle Prison guard with iron rods inside a bus.
A three-wheeler and a motorcycle used in the crime have also been taken into police custody The prison guard was attacked while travelling by bus after work on Saturday (5).
The arrested suspects are residents of Dikkumbura and Weligama aged between 19 and 30 years.
Police said they were on the lookout for a three-wheeler driver and a garment factory worker. The arrested suspects are to be produced before the Matara Magistrate’s Court.
The HOCID is continuing with their investigations.
