The World Food Programme (WFP) yesterday received a donation of 300 MT of Dates valued at US$ 500,000 from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, through the King Salman Humanitarian Aid & Relief Centre. These nutrient-rich Dates will be distributed among children enrolled in the National School Meal programme.
Saudi Ambassador in Colombo, Khalid bin Hamoud Nasser Aldasam Alkahtani, King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre officials and the WFP, Sri Lanka, were present.
