The Minister of agriculture and plantation industries Mr. Mahinda Amaraweera said that the arrangements have been made to hold the National New Rice Festival tomorrow (06) in honor of Jaya Sri Maha Bo Samidun in Anuradhapura under the patronage of the HE the President Mr. Ranil Wickramasinghe.
In this new rice festival held by the Department of Agrarian Development for the 57th time, it is customary for farmers to come to Anuradhapura sacred Jaya Sri Maha Bodhiya.
The minister also said that the purpose of this new rice festival is to get the blessings of Lord Buddha and all gods to make the successful harvest of the upcoming yala season prosperous and to get the all the people of the country said Minister Mahinda Amaraweera.
