900Mn allocated for completion of  Rajagiriya–Nawala bridge construction

Transport, Highways and Mass Media Minister Dr Bandula Gunawardhana today said that an amount of 900 million rupees has been allocated in this year’s budget for the completion of the currently stalled construction of the Nawala-Angampitiya bridge, which is being constructed through the Nawala-Rajagiriya canal, connecting the Battaramulla Pitakotte road and the Nawala-Rajagiriya canal.

Accordingly, a group of officials including the Minister Dr. Bandula Gunawardhana, engaged in an observation of the construction of the bridge.

The bridge is 700 meters long and 10.4 meters wide. The estimated total cost of its construction is Rs 2600 million . This project is being implemented by the Road Development Authority,under the Ministry of Transport and Highways.
