Nearly 30 children and 13 teachers took part in this event. Welcoming the children Buddhapriya Ramanayake, CEO of the centre emphasized the importance of developing the habit of reading, respect for teachers and the elders, cleanliness and the need to be useful citizens. The Director of the Russian Centre Anastasia Khakhlova was happy to welcome the children and watched the film ‘Masha and the Bear’ with them. Venurika Jayasinghe read a popular Russian story by Nikolai Nososov ‘Dunnos Adventures’. Mohomed Iqbal and Rohan Silva of the Guitar Association of Sri Lanka entertained the children with a few songs accompanied by a guitar and accordion. Finally, Khakhlova gave away gifts to all who participated at this event, much to their pleasure. It was a novel experience for the children of Colombo and an enjoyable day at the same time, filled with fun and entertainment. SP
