It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Gamini BandaraDodanwala, a renowned social worker and esteemed member of our community. Dodanwala, adorned with titles such as Deshabhimani Sasana Seva Vibhushana and Deshabandu, was not only a licensed surveyor but also a dedicated philanthropist and successful businessman.

Throughout his lifetime, Dodanwala made significant contributions to the spiritual fabric of our society, serving as a pillar of support for Bellanwila Raja MahaVihara and Dehiwala Hathbodhiya Vihara. As chairman of various temple societies in the area, he tirelessly championed social service initiatives, leaving an indelible mark on the Buddhist community and the Dehiwala United Business Association.

His sudden departure leaves a void that will be deeply felt by all who had the privilege of knowing him. In accordance with his wishes, arrangements have been made to hand over his remains to the Medical College, today, April 8.

Gamini Bandara Dodanwala’s legacy of compassion, service, and dedication will continue to inspire generations to come. May he rest in peace.
