Sri Lanka Muslim Congress (SLMC) National List Member of Parliament M.S. Abdul Wahid has tendered his resignation from Parliament.
The resignation, effective from today, was formally notified to the Election Commission by the Acting Secretary General of Parliament, Hansa Abeyratne.
As a result, a vacancy has arisen in the 10th Parliament, and in accordance with Section 64(5) of the Parliamentary Elections Act No. 1 of 1981. The Chairman of the Election Commission has been informed of the development. (Newswire)
