Ex-pack Corrugated Cartons PLC and Neptune Recyclers, subsidiaries of Aberdeen Holdings, was honoured at the Presidential Environment Awards 2024.

The ceremony was held at the BMICH and was organised by the Central Environment Authority under the Ministry of Environment, graced by President Ranil Wickremesinghe.

Ex-pack Corrugated Cartons PLC emerged as a beacon of excellence, securing the Silver Award in the category of Packaging Industry with Printing. CEO Riyaz accepted the accolade, marking a significant milestone in Ex-pack’s sustainability journey.

This award, along with previous recognitions such as the Green Manufacturing Award and the Eco-Friendly Packaging Award, underscores Ex-pack’s commitment to sustainable and innovative packaging solutions.

Neptune Recyclers, a subsidiary of Ex-pack, clinched the Bronze Award in the Solid Waste Recovery, Recycling, Disposal, or Processing Plant category. Managing Director Abdullah Kassim accepted the award, highlighting Neptune’s dedication to revolutionizing waste management and advancing recycling technologies.

Neptune’s achievements include exporting over 600,000 metric tons of wastepaper, generating over USD170 million, creating thousands of jobs, and being the first globally to receive Intertek’s Zero Waste to Landfill certification.
