Actor Vishwa Kodikara was fined Rs. 5,000 by the Mount Lavinia Magistrate’s Court on Thursday (17) after pleading guilty to possessing cocaine.
Mount Lavinia Magistrate Kanchana Neranjala Silva imposed the fine after Kodikara admitted to the offence.
According to reports, Kodikara was arrested by Wellawatta Police on Wednesday (16) night during a raid at a popular restaurant located in the coastal area of Wellawatta.
He was among five people arrested with narcotics during the raid, with all five subsequently produced before the Mount Lavinia Magistrate’s Court.
Wellawatta Police told court that 1,050 milligrams of cocaine had been found in Kodikara’s possession at the time of his arrest.
The magistrate warned Kodikara and the others that they would be referred for rehabilitation if they appeared before court again in connection with a similar offence. (Newswire)
