Agriculture and Life Sciences 2025 symposium tomorrow

Uva Wellassa University’s Animal Science and Export Agriculture Faculty has organised its second ‘National Symposium on Agriculture and Life Sciences (NSALS 25)’ for the undergraduates.

NSALS ’25 will be held tomorrow (23) and it will provide opportunity for 186 undergraduates of Sri Lankan universities for sharing their innovations and scholarly works. National Science Foundation (NSF), Sri Lanka Chairman, as well as Ruhuna University’s Agriculture Faculty Prof. Saman Senaweera will deliver the keynote address.

The Chief Guest Uva Wellassa University’s Vice Chancellor Senior Professor Kolitha B. Wijesekara and some other invitees will attend the event.

In parallel to NSALS ’25, ‘Three Minute Thesis (3MT) Competition’ following internationally accepted rules and regulations will also be held for the fresh graduates of the Animal Science and Export Agriculture Faculty. This event is held consecutively for the 4th time. The Best 3MT Speaker (Winner) will be selected by a panel of judges and the Most Popular Speaker (People’s Award) will be selected during the closing ceremony by the votes of the audience.

The symposium encompasses eight tracks: Crop Production Technology, Food Science and Technology, Animal Production and Technology, Aquatic Sciences, Agricultural Economics, Agribusiness Management, Extension and Entrepreneurship, Agricultural Engineering and Process Technology, Agricultural Microbiology and Biotechnology and Environmental Science and Climate Change. The theme of NSALS ’25 is ‘Empowering sustainability through innovations’.
