The Education Ministry has announced that its website is temporarily unavailable. The Sri Lanka Computer Emergency Response Team (SLCERT) and the Telecommunications Regulatory Commission of Sri Lanka (TRCSL) are jointly conducting a special investigation into the hacking of the website.
The relevant departments are working to restore the website as soon as possible and the Education Ministry expresses regret for any inconvenience caused to users.
Meanwhile, the individual who was involved in the hacking of Education Ministry website has been identified as an Advanced Level student.
The student, currently pursuing studies in Artificial Intelligence (AI), has posted a message on the website indicating that the attack was carried out to highlight security flaws of the website.
