Transport and Highways and Mass Media Minister Dr. Bandula Gunawardhana instructed the Transport and Highways Ministry Secretary to suspend the luxury bus service (Airport Terminal Shuttle Service) from Katunayake Airport to Fort Railway Station and Makumbura Multimodal Transport Center yesterday (20).
The Minister had given these instructions considering requests made by Katunayake Airport-Fort private bus owners, conductors, three-wheeler associations and the political authority. This luxury bus service commenced on August 15. Airport Private Luxury Bus Association President Indika Gunasekara said that 10 buses which were removed from operation will run instead of the bus service that was halted, from the Airport to the Fort Railway Station and the Makumbura Multimodal Transport Center.
