An appeal for financial assistance

Sandaruwan Perera who suffered serious eye damage due to an accident about 13 years ago, is now seeking public assistance for surgery at the Sankara Netra Hospital in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India.

Sandaruwan is currently preparing to go to India for surgery on his right eye. The cost of the surgery is Rs. 01 million. Sandaruwan says that he has Rs. 700,000. He is making every effort to find the remaining Rs. 300,000. In Chennai, he stays at the Mahabodhi Centre, which offers him free accommodation.

“Due to an accident, my left eye is completely damaged. Healing the right eye is the only way I can have sight. The surgery for an implant can only be done in this hospital in India,” he said.

His parents also have no proper source of income. He is the only child in the family.
