The four hospital employees who were arrested by the Mulleriyawa Police on suspicion of the recent death of an in-patient at the Angoda Mental Hospital were produced before the Aluthkade Magistrate’s Court on Saturday and were remanded until August 10.
Meanwhile, the Human Rights Commission has decided to call for a report from the relevant parties regarding the incident.
Accordingly, the officers of the Commission have recorded statements from the hospital director and several staff members.
The Mulleriyawa Police stated that the Commission officials who went to the Mulleriyawa Police also looked into the investigations being carried out on the incident.
