The Elections Commission declared that Anura Kumara Dissanayake has been elected as the 9th President of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka.
On behalf of the Elections Commission, the Chairman of the Elections Commission announced that National People’s Power (NPP) Presidential Candidate Anura Kumara Dissanayake who contested under the compass symbol has emerged as the winner of Presidential Election 2024.
Releasing the final report of the Presidential Election 2024, the Elections Commission declared the following results:
Anura Kumara – 5,740,179 (55.89%) ( 2nd votes 105,264)
Sajith Premadasa – 4,530,902 (44.11%)( 2nd votes 167,867)
Accordingly, Anura Kumara Dissanayake won the Presidential election with majority of votes.
