Following an argument between a three wheeler driver and a motorcyclist at a fuel queue at the Ceypetco filling station in Nittambuwa, Horagolla area on Sunday (20), the three wheeler driver had stabbed the motorcyclist to death.
The Police Media Spokesman said that the three wheeler driver and the motorcyclist had got into an argument while waiting in the queue to obtain patrol and the three wheeler driver had obtained fuel and had moved towards the exit and when the motorcyclist was leaving the station, he had stabbed him with a sharp object causing fatal injuries.
The victim has been identified as a 29-year-old resident of Colombo 14.
The three wheeler driver had fled the scene while the victim had been rushed to the Wathupitiwela Hospital where he had later succumbed to his injuries.
The body of the victim is lying at the Wathupitiwela Hospital pending the postmortem examination.
Meanwhile, it is reported that the suspect three wheeler driver responsible for the stabbing had been apprehended by the police in the Nittambuwa area early this morning (21).
The suspect is a 38-year-old. He was scheduled to be produced in the Attanagalla Magistrate’s Court today.
