Colombo Additional Magistrate Pasan Amarasena yesterday (12) ordered the Narahenpita Police OIC to conduct an immediate investigation and arrest the suspects and bring them to court regarding the incident of trespassing into a building on Isipathanarama Mawatha in Havelock Town, pointing a gun at the people there, intimidating them and chasing them out.
When the incident was recalled yesterday (12), the Magistrate issued this order subsequent to inquiring about facts from relevant parties.
According to a notice issued by the court, Dushanthi Dharmasena, Executive Director of Pinthenna Plantation Private Company, Kavishka Dharmasena, Executive Director, Ashalya Dharmasena, Director, Amanya Dharmasena, Account Manager, Udara Shalin Karunaratne, Accounts Manager, Pinthenna Daumi Oil Private Company Manahara, Chamodh, and Kithsiri, Chief Manager, Officer-In-Charge of the Narahenpita Police Station, the respondents including the Officer-In-Charge of the crimes division appeared before the Court but Director Kumara Dharmasena was not present in court.
The Magistrate, who considered a petition filed by businessman Warnakulasuriya Pradeep Malinga Fernando, issued this order, warning the Police for not taking proper action even though it has been over a month since the Police had received the relevant complaint.
President’s Counsel Nalinda Indratissa said that his client is the owner of Assenti Private Limited, which supplies security tools and accessories to the Sri Lanka Police and other security agencies, and runs his business in a building located in Isipathanarama Mawatha, Havelock Town.
Counsel mentioned that his client had gone abroad with his wife, who is a Dutch national, in July, also said that security officers had been deployed to protect the relevant business place.
The lawyer stated that Kumara Dharmasena, the Director of Pintenna Plantation Private Company, and a group of his representatives had entered the place with a firearm in hand and intimidated the security guards and trespassed into the land, said further that Kumara Dharmasena had said that he had purchased the building and pointed a pistol and obtained signatures on documents by force.
