The Central Environment Authority (CEA), Chairman Supun Shashendra Pathirage who was arrested by the Bribery Commission officers while accepting a bribe and later remanded has been interdicted from service.
Three persons including the Chairman of the Central Environment Authority were arrested by the officials of the Bribery Commission late Friday was remanded until today by Court.
It has been alleged that he asked for a bribe of Rs.10 million to facilitate a environmental clearance permit for refining the discarded fuel removed from ships.
