As-Siraj Maha Vidyalaya, Akkaraipattu won the All Island School Softball Cricket Championship Boys under-20 title held at Anuradhapura Prison Playground recently. Puttalam Ananda National School was the runner – up.
The All Island School Softball Cricket Championship was held as a part of All Island School Games-2023. This school cricket tournament organized by the Education Ministry while several National School Boys Under-20 cricket teams participated in this competition.
As Siraj Maha Vidyalaya, Akkaraipattu students had to face a big challenge in the quarter final and semi final during the final rounds.
Puttalam Ananda National School Team batted first and scored 68 runs in the 9.2 over’s for the loss of 10 wickets. In reply As Siraj Maha Vidyalaya, Akkaraipattu team, scored 70 runs for loss of 9 wickets.
Akkaraipattu, As Siraj Maha Vidyalaya (National School) team players are lucky to have the services of its Sports Trainers of the school M. Musnik Ahamed and M.I.M. Mifran who were the strength behind their success.
They were awarded certificates, medals and trophy by Education Ministry officials.
