Colombo Bourse experienced another day of price decline across most sectors as investors displayed profit taking sentiment during yesterday’s trading session. Additionally, SAMP, COMB, CINS, RICH and NDB emerged as the top negative contributors to the index.
Amidst this market volatility, the ASPI closed the day at 15,879 losing 171 points.
Amidst the increased participation from retail investors and low participation from HNW investors, turnover stood at LKR 8.6Bn, marking an increase of 21.7%, from the monthly average standing at LKR 7.0Bn.
The Banking sector led turnover at 25%, followed by Capital Goods and Food, Beverage and Tobacco sectors jointly contributing 41% of overall turnover.
Meanwhile, the net foreign inflow for the day stood at LKR 188.1Mn.
