It is reported that the Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) is in two minds about their participation in the All-Party Conference. President Ranil Wickremesinghe invited all party leaders representing the Parliament to discuss the National Reconciliation Programme expected to be implemented by the Government.
However, the Jathika Janabalawegaya (National Peoples Power – NPP) have decided to boycott the meeting.
Arrangements were made to hold the All-Party Conference tomorrow (26) at 5.30 pm at the President’s Office.
The President’s Office had invited not only all the political parties representing Parliament, but also the leaders of the independent groups to participate in the conference.
President Ranil Wickremesinghe recently made a public statement when he met the Tamil political leaders of the North and East and stated that his aim is to solve the national reconciliation problem in this country without leaving it to the next generation.
The President emphasized that it is his policy not to use it for politics. Another unique point that the President emphasized was that he is ready to implement the 13th Amendment to the Constitution in its entirety if the party leaders representing Parliament agree. The national problem as well as the economic crisis have to be solved quickly, no matter who becomes the leader of the state, no matter which party becomes the ruling party.
