The Board of Directors of United Motors Lanka PLC, announced the appointment of B. Singhage as an Executive Director, to the Board effective January 1.
- Singhage is a distinguished professional with over 30 years of senior management experience in the automotive industry, specialising in after sales operations, business strategy and customer experience. Previously he was the General Manager Technical and Spare Parts Divisions at United Motors Lanka PLC.
Singhage is a Director of UML Heavy Equipment Ltd a subsidiary of United Motors Lanka and a former Director of the Ceylon German Technical Training Institute.
He was also a Governing Council member of the Automobile Engineering Training Institute (AETI). Singhage holds an MBA, graduating with a Gold Medal from the University of Wales Trinity Saint David (UWTSD), UK. He has also completed international training programmes, at Harvard Business School, the Association for Overseas Technical Scholarship (AOTS) in Japan, and Robert Bosch GmbH in Germany.
Throughout his career, Singhage has cultivated strong partnerships with some of the world’s leading automobile companies, including Daimler, Fuso, Mitsubishi, Bosch and Perodua. His expertise in managing these relationships has been instrumental in introducing global standards of service and quality to UML’s operations.
