BCIS Toastmasters Club holds installation ceremony

The BCIS Toastmasters Club held its 18th installation ceremony at Hotel Janaki, on July 8.

The event was a momentous occasion that celebrated the club’s achievements, highlighted by the presence of esteemed guests, including former International President, Distinguished Toastmaster (DTM) Balraj Arunasalam as the chief guest and Prof. Narada Warnasuriya as the keynote speaker.

DTM Arunasalam’s presence as the chief guest added an extra layer of distinction and inspiration to the ceremony. As a former International President, his wisdom, leadership, and experience in the Toastmasters community have been instrumental in shaping the success of countless individuals. His address at the ceremony emphasized the importance of embracing leadership opportunities and unleashed the potential within each attendee.

The event was also graced by the presence of Prof. Narada Warnasuriya, an esteemed figure as the keynote speaker. Prof. Warnasuriya, with his vast knowledge and experience as the former Vice Chancellor of the University of Sri Jayewardenepura, delivered a captivating address that shed light on the fundamental principles of leadership, integrity, and patience. The 18th installation ceremony showcased the club’s own outstanding achievements. DTM Mahinda Karunakara, a member of BCIS Toastmasters Club, was appointed as the District Director of District 82, a significant accomplishment that reflects both his personal growth within the club and the club’s commitment to nurturing exceptional leaders.

The induction of seven new members added to the festivities, symbolizing the club’s continuous expansion and commitment to providing a supportive environment for personal and professional development. As new officers were installed, with TM Ravindra de Silva assuming the role of the 18th President of the club, BCIS Toastmasters Club set the stage for a promising future.
