Veteran media researcher M. Sarath Kumara Perera won the Best Media Researcher of the Year award at the first ICONIC Awards 2024 held at the BMICH, Colombo recently. Earlier he won UNDA Radio and Television Award (1997), Professor Hidayo Shimzu Award (2000), Madya Suri Award of Shamabhimani National Awards (2010) and several other awards during his 30-year-long media career. He had served as the Chief Electronic Media Researcher at MTV/MBC of Capital Maharaja Ltd. He also won a Gold award at his departure from the SIRASA channel for his memorable 25 years of service.
