Bikeathon for Mental Well-being

The Bikeathon, a 13-day Bicycle ride covering approximately 1,333 km around the country, with the participation of over 25 Cyclists, started recently. The objective of this event is to raise awareness about the importance of mental well-being and to reduce deaths by suicide.

The journey started from Independence Square last Thursday (Aug.29) and will end at Independence Square on September 10, after riding through Kitulgala, Kandy, Dambulla, Anuradhapura, Vavuniya, Trincomalee, Sigiriya, Mahiyangana, Kataragama, Dikwella and Bentota.

This event is an initiative by CCCline 1333, a Free and Confidential Telephone Crisis Support Service in Sri Lanka. This event aims to raise awareness of the vital Telephone # 1333, which assists those experiencing stress, anxiety and difficulties that could lead to suicidal thoughts or actions.
