One person was killed and eight others were injured when a bus carrying employees returning from a factory, skidded off the road and overturned near the
Rakkiththakanda temple on the Uma-Oya Karagolla road. This accident took place yesterday (18) morning and the 73-year-old driver died in the accident. The injured were admitted to the Wellawaya hospital.
The chief medical officer of Wellawaya hospital stated that condition of the injured is not serious.
The deceased driver has never had an accident before and police suspect that the cause of the accident may have been due to the failure of brakes.
