The Police Special Task Force (STF) on Tuesday arrested a businessman who had close connections with the underworld figure known as “Gonakovile Roha”, who was shot dead by police in Kochchikade.
The arrested suspect (29) is a resident of Wilegoda, Kalutara North. He had in possession a weapon which belonged to “Roha”. He has been distributing “modaka”, which is an ayurvedic production, in Kalutara with a valid permit.
He was arrested at a star hotel in Kalutara. The police, who searched his room, recovered a 9mm pistol and 9 bullets.
The suspect was handed over to the Kalutara North Police Station for further investigations.
