The Cabinet has approved granting of a uniform allowance of Rs. 2,500 to Dhamma schoolteachers of all religions.
Accordingly, in 2025, an incentive teacher allowance of Rs. 5,000 and a uniform allowance of Rs. 2,500, totalling an annual allowance of Rs. 7,500 for Dhamma schoolteachers representing all religions has been approved, Cabinet Spokesman, Transport, Highways and Mass Media Minister Dr. Bandula Gunawardhana said.
The Minister said this at the press conference to announce the Cabinet decisions on Saturday (14) at the Government Information Department.
He said that the proposal in this regard was presented by Buddha Sasana, Religious and Cultural Affairs Minister Vidura Wickramanayaka.
