Cabinet nod to revise USAID grant upto US$ 52.83 Mn

The Cabinet of Ministers approved the resolution by President Ranil Wickremesinghe as Finance, Economic Stabilization and National Policies Minister to revise the co-operative agreement No.383-128 signed with the Government of the United States of America by escalating the grant up to US$ 52.835 million granted under the “Programme for a Sri Lanka with democracy, prosperity and the capability to face disasters”.

An agreement has been signed by the Government of Sri Lanka with the Government of the United States of America on 31.08.2022 to receive a grant to finance the “Programme for a Sri Lanka with democracy, prosperity and the capability to face disasters” and followed by that Sri Lanka has been granted an amount of US$ 9.069 million accordingly. During the year the value of the grant has been revised up to US$ 28.29 million two times.

The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) has proposed to further increase the value of the grant up to US$ 52.83 million.
