The Campaign for Free and Fair Elections (CaFFE) was compelled to fast track its programme to enlighten 18+ first time voters on the importance of exercising their franchise.
CaFFE has undertaken to conduct ten workshops each in the districts Ampara, Batticaloa, Jaffna, Kilinochchi, Matara and Ratnapura.
CaFFE conducted a two-day residential programme in early November to train twelve master trainers (two from each district) who were tasked with updating first time voters in their respective districts, to achieve this objective before the November 14 poll.
The twelve master trainers were trained by Attorney Jagath Liyanarachchi who is an authority on Election Laws.
