“Candidates won’t be able to implement manifestos because of those around them”

Sarvajana Balaya Presidential Candidate Dilith Jayaweera said that other presidential candidates in the election fray will not be able to implement the policies in their manifestos due to the influence of the political groups surrounding them.

Addressing a meeting held in Galle he stressed, “I have no such obligations. There is no black economy that is supporting me. I don’t conduct three or four meetings a day. I don’t pay Rs. 5,000 to bring people to meetings,” he said.

Jayaweera said, “There is no one to offer me such a colossal amount of money. Neither will I accept it. Such things would not hinder the true implementation of my policies.”

He said that he represented a journey towards victory through a strategic programme based on concepts, making it a programme that no one can oppose.
