National People’s Power (NPP) Leader Anura Kumara Dissanayake said that it was the responsibility of the rulers to ensure that they hand over a peaceful country to the next generations sans wars.
He stated this while addressing the Karandeniya NPP members meeting on Saturday. “We have no compassion for human lives today. People die, get sick, have accidents, women are raped. The most precious thing we all have is life. Society does not need more tragedies. Our generation fought wars. We cannot handover such burdens to the next generation. Our country should become the most developed country in the world,” he said.
