The case filed against the president of the Presidential Task Force ‘One Country, One Law’ and Bodubala Sena Organisation Leader, Ven. Galagodaaththe Gnanasara Thera for making a statement at a press conference that violated inter-ethnic and religious harmony was yesterday fixed for November 24 by the Colombo High Court.
The case was taken up before Colombo High Court Judge Adithya Patabendige.
When the case was taken up before the Court yesterday, former Minister Rishad Bathuideen who has been named as a witness in the case appeared before the Court, to testify over the case. The case was postponed for November 24 due to the absence of accused Ven. Gnasara Thera.
The case has been filed by the Attorney General under two counts following a complaint lodged by Azad Sally against a controversial statement made by Ven. Gnasara Thera at a press conference on March 30, 2016.
