The Civil Procedure Code (Amendment) Bill was passed in Parliament with amendments and without a vote yesterday (23).
The debate on the Second Reading of the Bill was held from 10.30 am to 5.30 pm, following which amendments to the Bill were presented during the Committee Stage yesterday.
To amend the sections of the Civil Procedure Code (Chapter 101),Justice, Prisons Affairs and Constitutional Reforms Minister Dr.Wijeyadasa Rajapakshe, PC, presented the said Bill to Parliament on May 13,2024.
Regulations under the Judicature Act published under the Gazette Extraordinary No.2360/22 and 2371/13 were also approved by Parliament today.
