Clifton Inn Nuwara Eliya has been refurbished and reopened positioning it as a heritage Luxury boutique property.
Located 1.6 km from Gregory Lake in Badulla Road Nuwara Eliya, the property was the former residence of Race Course Managers bungalow. “It was built in 1902 and our family acquired it two decades ago converting it to a hotel,” said Managing Director Kanchana Ariyarante who is also into real estate and vehicle sales.
Under the refurbishment drive we installed new furniture maintaining its colonial architecture and installed many amenities to meet the present day demands of the travelers.”
He said that the hotel also boasts of a large garden in both front and rear, a large colonial style lounge with original fireplace, barbeque facilities making it ideal for group vacations allowing parting until late night.
Hotel offers 6 rooms including rooms for non-smokers and could accommodate around 16 guests. “We are also planning to add two more rooms since demand for the property is increasing.”

Hotel management Rajagiriya which oversees the management of the hotel. “We also have flexible check in and check out hours and also a special service where we pick up and drop passengers from the Nanu Oya railway station. The hotel also arranges special excursions to many places of nearby interests.”
