Tamil Union cricket team
Army SC will meet Tamil Union in their Major Clubs limited over cricket tournament final which will be played today at the SSC grounds. The two teams are evenly balanced and a keen tussle is expected in this final as both sides have included several experienced National players to showcase their talent.
Tamil Union will be led by National all rounder Dhananjaya de Silva while they have the services of experienced players like Isuru Udana the bowling all rounder and leg spinner Jeffery Vandersay , off spin all rounder Dilruwan Perera wicket keeper Sadeera Samarawickrama and new ODI debutant Pramod Madushan are having National experience .
Meanwhile Army SC will be led by former National white ball skipper Thisara Perera have the services of former National skipper Dinesh Chandimal the inform batter who scored heavily during the last Australian and Pakistan test cricket series .In addition spin all rounder Seekkuge Prasanna, Asela Gunaratne the dashing stroke maker and useful medium paceman , white ball specialist spinner Maheesh Theekshana , spin all rounder Suminda Lakshan are experienced players of the Army team .
In the semi finals Army SC recorded an easy 123 run win over Ace Capital CC while Tamil Union defeated CCC by 16 runs to enter the final . Tamil Union so far have played 12 matches and won 10 while Army SC did much better playing 12 matches and lost only one to go top of the points table .
Army SC coached by former National off spinner Ajantha Mendis while former National under 19 spin coach Sachith Pathirana is serving Tamil Union as head coach At . the SSC wicket first hour is going to be very crucial while the wicket is also very good for the batsmen and high scoring final is expected today .
