The 27th Colombo International Book Fair begins today at the Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall (BMICH) in Colombo.
Organised by the Sri Lanka Book Publishers’ Association, the 10-day fair will run from September 25 to October 4 and will be open daily from 9 am to 9 pm.
This year’s event brings together around 70 leading local publishers and 32 international publishers, according to the official Colombo International Book Fair website.
Visitors will be able to purchase a wide range of local and foreign books, including publications in Sinhala, Tamil and English, with special discounts available during the fair. Book launches, meetings with authors and other literary activities are also expected during the event.
Online ticketing is also available this year, allowing visitors to purchase tickets in advance and use a QR code at designated entry counters at the BMICH.
Meanwhile, Central Environmental Authority Chairman Professor Tilak Hewawasam has requested visitors not to bring polythene into the exhibition premises. (Newswire)
