Research & Development Institute Director Professor Athula Sumathipala, expressed these views on Saturday (11) at a Workshop held in conjunction with the 35th annual Research session jointly organized by the Research and Development Institute and organized by the Post Graduate Institute of Agriculture, University of Peradeniya. The theme of the Workshop was ‘Community Participation and Contribution to Agricultural Research’.
The Workshop was attended by Dr. Jim Elliott of the Health Research Authority of the UK, Dr. Thilini Agampodi, Senior Researcher on cutaneous leishmaniasis transmitted by sand flies, Dr. Prabhath Ranasinghe, a specialist community physician, Dr. Godwin Kodithuwakku, President of the Institute of Research and Development and Health Promotion of Rajarata University. A group of resource persons including Professor Duminda Guruge of the department, and Researchers and Postgraduate students from various universities also participated in this Workshop.
