Panadura South Police arrested a constable addicted to cannabis with 7,700 mg of the drug.
This officer recently joined the Police service and was attached to the Panadura South Police Station.
According to the information received by the Officer-in-Charge of the control division about the constable and during a search of his luggage, the stock of cannabis which he kept for his personal use was found on Monday (19).
Investigations have revealed that he was addicted to cannabis even when he joined the Police service. Panadura Assistant Superintendent of Police has taken steps to suspend the service of this constable since yesterday (20).
