Mannar Police on Saturday arrested a constable who was assigned to guard the court and a trishaw driver who assisted him in stealing several items which were in the Mannar court premises.
This theft had been committed on the night of November 11.
The police officer had allegedly stolen several satinwood door frames which were in the court premises. He had allegedly stolen these items from the court and hidden them in a house near the court. According to the information received by the Mannar Police, the police officer and the three-wheeler driver were arrested and interrogated and the stolen goods were recovered.
