The construction of the Kinniya Kurincharkani Bridge has resumed, facilitating the movement of thousands of people.
An amount of US$ 10.5 million has been allocated for the resumption of the construction of the Kurincharkani Bridge, which will facilitate the movement and business activities of about 100,000 people in the Kinniya Divisional Secretariat Division of the Trincomalee District.
Accordingly, the Secretary to the Ministry of Finance, Mr. Mahinda Siriwardena, and the Director (Legal) of the Saudi Development Fund, Mr. Abdul Mozen A. Almulla, signed the amended agreement to use the remaining funds from the Peradeniya Badulla Senkaladi Road Development Project for this purpose.
The amended agreements are expected to transfer the remaining funds expected from the Peradeniya Badulla Senkaladi Road Development Project to the Road Network Development Project, which will be allocated for the construction of the Kurincharkani Bridge.
The construction of this bridge is expected to provide solutions to many transportation problems.
