The convocation for awarding the National Diploma and Higher National Diploma of Technical Colleges (TCs) and Colleges of Technology (COTs) for 2021/22 was held at the BMICH, on November 14.
Two-thousand-three-hundred students covering 21 National Diploma and five Higher National Diploma courses, attached to both TCs and COTs, who had got through the final exams related to NVQ 5 (National Diploma) and NVQ 6 (Higher National Diploma) received their certificates at the ceremony.
The guest of honour at the morning session (9.00 am to noon) was Prof. Mahesh Edirisooriya, Vice Chancellor of the University of Vocational Technology, while W.A. Malkanthi, W.M.R.B. Weerasekara and G.A. Amarasinghe, Additional Secretaries, Education Ministry joined him in awarding certificates.
During the evening session, the chief guest was Deepa Liyanage, Additional Secretary (Development) of the Prime Minister’s Office and she was joined by Samanthi Mihindukula, Additional Secretary, Education Ministry, N.A.H.K Wijeratne, Chief Finance Officer, Education Ministry and Prof. Eurno Kim, Field Officer, KOICA, in distributing certificates to students.
