A police sergeant serving at the Gampaha Hospital police post was arrested as he was found to have consumed alcohol.
This sergeant was arrested by officers of the Gampaha Police yesterday night, according to a notification made by the hospital staff.
A senior police officer said that the sergeant was arrested for his indecent behaviour under the influence of alcohol during duty hours.
