Speaking at a meeting in Ampara, he stated, “My personal choice for the upcoming Presidential election is President Ranil Wickremesinghe.”
He added, “President Wickremesinghe has shouldered the country’s responsibility and has led with a strong financial vision. No one else will be able to manage the country’s situation like he can. Therefore, personally, my preference for the election is President Ranil Wickremesinghe. We opposed Ranil Wickremesinghe in past elections, but we do not need to do it anymore.”
