The Maligakanda Magistrate’s Court today (06) issued notice on the Officer-in-Charge of the Financial Crimes Investigation Division (FCID), ordering him to appear before court on October 12 and make submissions regarding the anticipatory bail application filed by former First Lady Shiranthi Rajapaksa.
Maligakanda Magistrate Janani Perera issued the notice after considering the anticipatory bail application filed by Rajapaksa yesterday (05).
The application was filed after Rajapaksa was summoned by the FCID to provide a statement.
According to police, Rajapaksa has been informed to appear before the FCID on October 13.
The anticipatory bail application, filed through Attorney-at-Law Jayabalan, names the Director of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) as the respondent and Shiranthi Rajapaksa as the petitioner.
