Sri Lanka Unites has honoured Farveez Maharoof as one of the recipients of the Outstanding Young Sri Lankans award this year in an event held recently.
The 37-years old Maharoof was feted for his contribution to national unity and thriving society which is truly inspirational. He was instrumental in bringing youth from all communities together and helping them to see a collective united vision for Sri Lanka. Sri Lanka Unites is a youth movement for hope, reconciliation, and youth leadership development. His service on the field as one of Sri Lanka’s most impressive all-rounders and his passion for the country and Lankan cricket currently in the commentator’s box and his generous and consistent social work earned him this award.
Maharoof embarked on his new educational venture in 2019. Footsteps Pre-school, crafting a mandate for quality education, the pre school is formulating on core values that encourage kids in laying the foundation in social conscience and becoming active and responsible citizens. Furthermore, he is the ambassador for Prestige Academy – The exclusive agent for Module University Vienna.
Sri Lanka Unites have engaged as a movement for 14 years and serve all 25 districts of the country. Their movement is made possible by the incredible commitment and hard work of nearly 1000 volunteers and 50 staff members serving in eight centres in eight districts.
