Crime OIC threatened by Dubai drug dealer via phone

The Colombo Crime Division reported facts before Colombo Magistrate Prasanna Alwis on Wednesday (6), that an investigation regarding a threat made by phone to the OIC of the Organized Crime Investigation Division of the Colombo Crime Division by a member of an organised crime gang in Dubai named ‘Modara Nipuna’, a member of an organised crime gang in Dubai.

‘Modara Nipuna’ who called the mobile phone of Police Inspector Duminda Jayathilaka, OIC of the Organized Crime Investigation Division of Colombo Crime Division from Dubai said, “Mr. Jayathilaka, you are harassing my people, and if you harass us, we will harass you,” it is stated in the complaint presented to the Court by that division.

The Colombo Crime Division has reported to the Court that on last 27th, two suspects were arrested with ‘Ice’ drugs in the Mattakkuliya area of Modara, and during their questioning, information was revealed that the heroin belongs to Modara Nipuna, who lives in Dubai.

The Colombo Crime Division presented the facts to the Court that when the suspects were arrested and brought to Court, this Modara Nipuna called the mobile phone of the OIC of the Organized Crime Investigation Division and made this threat, and accordingly the investigation was started.

The facts related to this incident had been reported to the Court by Chief Inspector Anslem de Silva, OIC of Colombo Crime Division.
