The Sri Lanka Customs (SLC) trade unions have taken action to protest against the proposed Revenue Authority Bill by reporting sick today (04) and tomorrow (05).
However, essential services such as export services, airport services, and port gates are being carried out as usual, said SLC Trade Union Committee Member Tharaka Kumarasinghe.
SLC trade unions began a work-to-rule strike on Tuesday (02) causing in a major hold-up in the clearance of imported goods.
The proposed changes to the Customs Ordinance prompted the initiation of this action.
