Thirty One year old, Damith Dissanayake, has been appointed as the Captain of the Champion Rugby team of the Kandy Sports Club for the current year and he has taken over the captaincy from Nigel Ratwatte who led the victorious Kandy SC Rugby team in the League, and Knock-out tournaments. Damith Dissanayake was a student of Sarasavi Uyana Vidyalaya and then he joined St.Sylvesters before joining Trinity College, Kandy for his higher studies.
Damith left School after getting through the G.C.E (O/L) and joined Kandy sports club in the year 2011 and he played with players of the calibre of Sanjeewa Jayasinghe, Fazil Marija, Sean Wijesinghe, Saliya Kumara and Roshan Weeraratne to name a few. Damith toured Dubai with the Kandy SC Rugby team in the year 2015 and 2016 for the Western Asia Cup. He was in the Sri Lanka Rugby Pool from 2015 to 2017 and he is a Higher National Diploma Holder at the American College and was employed at Penguin Sports-ware for sometime and at present he is a professional Rugby Player.
