The Pirith Chanting held annually both Day and Night to coincide with the Poson Festival will be held for the 44th time from today (29) at the Pirith Mandapaya built in Anuradhapura’s Sacred Jaya Sri Maha Bodhi premises.
This has been organized under the guidance of Atamasthanadipathi Most Ven.Pallegama Hemarathana Thera.
In the afternoon, devotees carrying jars full of water taken from the Tisawewa Reservoir will walk in a procession starting from the Isurumuniya Vihara Premises and will proceed to the Pirith Mandapaya and after the religious observances, the Pirith chanting will begin.
